Lucknow: The state govt has launched a state-wide training programme to strengthen Project-Based Learning (PBL) in upper primary schools. The initiative is aimed at making science education more experiential, activity-based and student-centric for students of Classes 6 to 8.
As part of the programme, 261 district-level resource persons from all 75 districts are undergoing a two-day training programme being conducted in batches from Oct 5 to 13 at State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Lucknow.
Under the initiative, 18 curriculum-aligned science project plans have been developed for Classes 6, 7 and 8. The projects are designed to connect classroom concepts with real-life situations through activities, experiments and inquiry-based learning.
Following the state-level training, the programme will be expanded to 17,089 schools with enrolment exceeding 100 students, where science teachers will receive district-level training through DIETs before implementing PBL activities in classrooms.
