Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ has stepped into a controversy after a song was allegedly played instead of India’s National Anthem before a screening at a cinema in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The incident reportedly occurred at Ajantha Ellora Cinemas on Coimbatore Road, where the Indian National Flag was displayed on screen before the film began. Videos of the episode have circulated on social media.According to Mid Day, the incident took place while the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action drama was being screened. The usual pre-show display of the National Flag was reportedly accompanied by a commercial film song rather than ‘Jana Gana Mana’.The reported mix-up has prompted questions about how the audio was selected and whether the incident resulted from an error. The reports does not establish why the song was played or whether the theatre has issued an official explanation.
